On behalf of the SNAP Board of Directors, I regret to inform you that SNAP has made the difficult decision to cancel the David R. Ranck LEAD Workshop due to the pandemic of the coronavirus (COVID-19). As healthcare professionals, it is our responsibility to educate and support the safety and health of the communities in which we live and work. Our other concern is that the workshop is held at UPMC Pinnacle, which is a hospital setting, and we are appreciative of their support of our workshop by giving us this space. But if there is even a slight chance of bringing something into a hospital setting, it would be very upsetting.
Also, many universities are limiting travel of both their students and staff, especially if it involves being part of large groups or gatherings. As you know, several more individuals have been found to be positive for the coronavirus in the South Pennsylvania area.
Although we are extremely disappointed, we will be holding the LEAD Workshop next March and each of you have a special invitation to attend, even if you will be a junior! SNAP will give you advance notice when the date is set in June so that you can put it on your calendar.
Thank you for your understanding of this decision. Stay safe, and we will see you at the annual convention in November at Kalahari!
The David R. Ranck LEAD Workshop is designed for emerging leaders from Pennsylvania’s local chapters to gain leadership and development skills. Ideally, participants will be freshmen or sophomores. Each school may send a total of six (6) students, and registration will be on a first come – first served basis, for a maximum of 60 participants. You must be a SNAP/NSNA member in order to participate.
The SNAP Board of Directors is very excited to be able to offer this workshop, and we want to thank PINNACLE HEALTH for hosting and sponsoring this event once again! The program will be held in the Brady Building at Pinnacle Health, and they will be supplying lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday The faculty includes David R. Ranck, Cindy Schmus, and many other expert leadership speakers. We sincerely hope chapters take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn more about leadership and development on an individual and organizational level.
The Comfort Inn Riverfront has a block of rooms available for participants. The room cost per night is $72.99 plus taxes. Please mention you will be attending the SNAP LEAD workshop when making your reservation. The phone number is (717)233-1611.
Remember that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions, feel free to call the SNAP office at (717)671-7110. You can also email the SNAP Office at email@example.com.
