STEP UP AND LEAD! RUN FOR SNAP OFFICE!

NEC WESTERN REGIONS

Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Reynolds and I will be serving as your new NEC West and Chair for the 2025-2026 year. I’m a junior at the University of Pittsburgh where I am a member of our NSA chapter, as well as the President of my sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma.
As President of a sorority, one of our main jobs is to recruit new members and inspire them to run for positions, which is the exact goal of NEC. I plan to connect with schools in the Western region to spread awareness about the leadership opportunities available within SNAP, as well as to encourage other nursing students to increase their involvement. Whether your chapter has 1 member or 300 members, you all deserve to shine and feel represented.
I am so excited to work hand-in-hand with the NEC team, SNAP board, and all of you this upcoming year! We are here for you and hope to show you how valuable and rewarding it is to take on a leadership role at the state level.

NEC CENTRAL REGIONS

Hi everyone! My name is Haneef Capers, and I am overjoyed to serve on the 2025-2026 Nominations and Elections Committee as NEC Central. I am a Sophomore at Penn State University Park, where I am serving as the BTN Chair in our university’s local chapter. Prior to this year, I had the fantastic opportunity to attend last year’s convention, where I knew I wanted to be more involved in SNAP.

I am very excited and grateful to have this opportunity. I am looking forward to meeting so many of you at the LEAD Workshop, Capitol Hill, NSNA Convention, and again at our Annual State Convention. If you have any interest or questions at all about the SNAP board, please do not hesitate to reach out!

NEC EASTERN REGIONS

Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Nyerges, and I’m so excited to be serving as your NEC East this year. I’m a junior at Widener University, where I’m the President of our Student Nurses’ Association and a University Ambassador. I’m looking forward to connecting with leaders across the Eastern Region and sharing opportunities, resources, and support. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you ever want to talk about involvement, leadership, or nursing—I’m always happy to help!
