SNAP 72nd ANNUAL CONVENTION

November 20-22, 2024

SNAP is celebrating our 72nd Annual Convention at the Wyndham Resort and Convention Center in Lancaster, PA from November 20 – 22, 2024Maria Santana, SNAP Vice President and Convention Chair, is currently planning many workshops and activities to celebrate this highlight of our organizational year.  The 72nd Annual Gala Party and Awards Ceremony is not to be missed on Thursday, November 21st!

SNAP will be sponsoring many awards again at the 72nd Annual Convention. There will be awards presentations on Thursday, November 21, 2024.  All applicants must be NSNA/SNAP members, registered for the convention and attend the Awards Celebration on Thursday evening. Following are some of the awards that will be available to submit until the deadline at 5:00 p.m. on October 15, 2024.

DEADLINES:

All Award Applications – Tuesday, October 15

Poster abstract application – Tuesday, October 15 

To be pre-slated as a candidate, Consent to Serve – Wednesday, October 30

Challenge Bowl registration – Wednesday, November 6.

RUNNING FOR OFFICE:  CONSENT TO SERVE APPLICATION

Members are encouraged to consider running for an office on the SNAP Board of Directors or the Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC).  A link the the Candidate’s packet and also the link to the JotForm Consent to Serve application will be available this August.

SCORE! CHALLENGE BOWL COMPETITION

Each year, there is a lively competition between chapters vying to be the next SCORE! Champion!  Teams of five will answer NCLEX® questions with the person who hits the buzzer first eligible to answer.  It is a great way to start off a fantastic week of activities, workshops and fun! Registration will be available this summer.

POSTER PRESENTATION ABSTRACT APPLICATION

The SNAP Board was excited to offer members an opportunity to participate in a Poster Presentation at our convention last year, and it was very well received!  And we are happy to announce that we are once again inviting members to submit an abstract to be considered for this year’s convention

In order to participate, you will need complete the application (when available):  1.  Poster Title – represents the poster’s primary concept and content  2.  Names of author(s) and co-presenter(s) with credentials and institutions as listed in the poster program (must be members of SNAP, include faculty adviser)  3.  In 275 words or less: a) identify the problem, issue or project; b) provide a description of the issue, problem or project that was addressed; c) provide a description of findings, conclusions or solutions resulting from the project.

The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on October 15.

The SNAP Legislative Committee will review the abstracts and select the posters that will be exhibited at the Poster Session.  All selected poster presentations will then be considered for the Outstanding Poster Award.  The criteria for the Outstanding Poster Award includes:

ABSTRACT: is evaluated based on the following objectives: 1) identifies problem, issue or project; 2) briefly describes the manner with which the study, problem, issue or project was address; 3)describes the findings, conclusions, or solutions; and 4) is 275 words or less

SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATION: Poster content is evaluated based on the following objectives: 1) research question is clearly defined; 2) includes introductory information, research methods, results, and conclusions; 3) can be understood without oral description from the research team; and 4) gives credit to contributors and other researchers whose work is cited.

VISUAL PRESENTATION: Poster appearance is evaluated based on the following objectives: 1)not cluttered, balance of text, figures, and space; 2) poster is legible, colors and fonts enhance readability; 3) follows a logical sequence; and 4) graphics are engaging and supplement the text.

WHO CAN WRITE A RESOLUTION?

Any student, group of students, or organization can author and submit a resolution to SNAP.  Only one resolution per chapter will be accepted each year.

The Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania invites chapters to submit resolutions to be considered by the SNAP House of Delegates at the Annual Convention, which will be held Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22.

The SNAP Resolutions Jotform for submission, Resolutions Handbook and Resolutions Template will be available in August.

Proposed resolutions must be submitted via the JotForm link by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15.
